Thought for today, seasons in life. I love my garden, it gives me great pleasure, keeps me calm and focused; watching the seasons come and go. If we watch, listen and think we can see how this can be applied to our lives. We all go through seasons in our lives, dark and cold times where everything may seem bleak, yet in the soil, deep underground in the dark, nature is at work. Seeds/bulbs are taking in all they need to keep alive, they know it's not time yet to appear above the ground, but then..... Spring......now we see the evidence of life....a new season. We enjoy Spring because it brings new life and hope for a warm Summer when we get to go on summer holidays and enjoy the warmth. Nights start to draw in after the longest day in June, Autumn is coming, another season. Leaves fall, leaving just bare branches, just waiting to spring to life again, but those same trees need to go through these times to produce healthy leaves next year; all for a purpose. Then in December we have the shortest day leading to Spring again...and on and on it goes.
I look at my life like that. Some say life goes too fast, well yeah! But I try and live each day and appreciate that I'm alive. Those who know me know that I have a few health challenges that make things difficult sometimes and am forced to stop, rest and recover (not always easy) but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate what God has blessed me with. I've found and learned that to be given life is a gift from God, every breath I take is a gift https://youtu.be/yHWHPPHpAj8?si=MZERfoyJdLv33VS2 Song for every occasion but a good way to remember these things. Good to remember, what we are going through today will pass, tomorrow is a new day. We do only have a short time on earth, I marvel I have made it to 70 but God's grace and mercy have allowed me to experience it, when others far younger (like my own mother 48, and nephew under 5) never the got the chance. If you want to know more about God's plan and design for mankind, I have a faith page that I try to explain the basic, fundamental theology of the Gospel. I would never have experienced true love, true peace, true hope if God hadn't opened my eyes to His truth and used people to share their faith with me, just as I am sharing it with you. Scripture says "today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts" (Hebrews 3 v 7-8).
